TEA of Utah could not be prouder of our Board President, Candice Metzler! She was awarded the 2011 Pete Suazo “Individual Advocacy through Education” Social Justice Award. She was presented with this amazing award on April 6, 2012 at the 11th Annual awards ceremony held at the University of Utah College of Social Work. She is in the company of other recipients Sim Gill, Salt Lake County District Attorney, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity and Neighborhood House.
Nominated by Josh Newbury for this prestigious award, he remarks “Utah is a safer, more loving, more inclusive place because of the work she does to free all of us from the constraints of gender and homophobia.”
We are honored to have her as TEA’s President and the heart of our organization. Congratulations, Candice!
